About Pandora’s Kitchen

Pandora is a mythological symbol of curiosity. In her case, as with poor Eve, curiosity is seen as bad. Very bad. But in the kitchen, curiosity is good. Very good.

So I thought, what if Pandora had found a different box? Not one that ended the world, but one that provided an opportunity to bring together friends, family and new friends? I hate to be so corny as to say that a recipe box can do that, but perhaps it could in the right hands…

When creating this blog, I wanted to use the prefix “pan” because it means combining everything, which is the way I cook. I consider what my husband and I want to eat, what the cookbooks say, what the other bloggers say, what the recipe search sites say, and then I make something. It may have been inspired by something I saw on tv (from a commercial to a cooking show), or a photo, or something I overhear on the street. I consider the world my recipe source, and my imagination the limit.

Welcome to my kitchen!
